Prince William Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in South America

Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, according to royal officials.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event preceding the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

Father and son were present at the museum gathering, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the British authorities.

Climate Leadership Dedication

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be held in Brazil before the UN meeting.

Official representatives have described the Prince's participation at the upcoming climate summit as assuming an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were welcomed guests including environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and government officials.

This involvement included speaking together with President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other global statesmen at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Link

The climate conference will coincide with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the day before he participates in the climate conference on 6 November.

Last week the William characterized the Earthshot finalists as "modern-day pioneers".

Monarch's Environmental Record

The monarch has been a prominent presence at previous climate summits, providing the introductory remarks in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".

"I have spent a significant amount of my life trying to warn of the survival risks confronting humanity over planetary heating, global temperature increases and species extinction," the monarch informed delegates.
